9. Let your little one help…

how-to-get-child-used-to-getting-hair-done If your child is a little older, why not have them pass you each hair tie as you need them; or if you’re adding a bit of hair, have them pass you each section. It may surprise you how much gratification your little one will obtain from helping with their own hair; and YOU may be surprised at how it speeds up the process. Not only that, but you’ll be laying the foundation for self-care in the future.

great tips! My 2 year old is an absolute TERROR when it comes to getting her hair done. I mean, I could literally not have done anything but rub product in my palm then on her hair and she’s level 10 upset. Since she does like having her own things I think I’ll purchase her a special chair and throw a tablet in her face. I’ll usually have a her favorite movie on but it doesn’t work. She hates hair day but these tips will likely help and I will come back to let you know. Thanks.

For right now curly fro with headbands only lol. I’ve tried all of this and my 16 month old is not having it, unless it’s something really special happening, I don’t bother trying. I keep it washed and moisturize, but that’s about it. Just not too concerned with having it laid and slayed all the time, she still a baby not that serious at least for me.

My 14 month old screams uncontrollably. Just going near her hair causes issues. I’ve tried special toys. The chair hasn’t worked for me yet. I just want to get her used to it now, or I know it will be much worse for her (and me) later.

Thank you for this post Kesha! Our one year old prefers I leave her head alone. So I let her rock her fro as is and it’s super healthy. I’ve learned that styling is not necessary for a baby with short hair.
